The practical things, before
you make room for Buddy.
Choose yearly billing and pay for 10 months instead of 12: $250 a year for Pro instead of $300, or $1,500 a year for Max instead of $1,800. The full annual amount is billed upfront.
Your usage allowance still refreshes monthly: $25 on Pro or $150 on Max. The monthly equivalent shown for yearly Pro is rounded to $20.83; the annual charge is exactly $250.
Buddy’s thinking and work share one monthly usage allowance: $25 on Pro or $150 on Max. That includes conversations and allowance-backed work such as research, connected-app tasks, and file creation.
Different jobs use different amounts, so it isn’t a fixed number of messages. Your current balance is visible in Billing. These amounts measure included usage; they aren’t cash or a refundable balance.
You can still have basic conversations with Buddy, without tools. New allowance-backed tool work pauses until your allowance renews or you add room by upgrading from Pro to Max. Work already underway isn’t interrupted.
There are no automatic overage charges added to your subscription bill.
No. Your plan allowance renews each month, and unused allowance expires at that monthly boundary. This works the same way whether you pay monthly or yearly.
Yes, from your membership page. Moving up to Max applies right away: you pay the difference for the rest of your current period and get Max's extra credits for that time, then the full Max plan at renewal. Switching from monthly to yearly billing also starts right away. Moving down to Pro, switching from yearly to monthly, or canceling takes effect at the end of your current period.
Both plans include the same Buddy capabilities. The difference is how much allowance and file storage you have.
No. After signup and checkout, you'll meet your Buddy here on the web. He'll get to know you and show you the basics. You can pause whenever you like, then connect iMessage or email when you're ready.
The optional VXBE desktop app for Windows gives you more room for conversations, files, and saved work. You choose which accounts to connect.
