Buddy for wedding websites

Send me the weekend’s schedule and the questions guests keep asking. I’ll make a little website you can share with one link.

A groom in Paso Robles, California, five weeks out, answering the same guest questions for the tenth time.

The wedding page in this conversation is the one Buddy made from these texts.

Send me the schedule and what people keep asking. I’ll make a page you can send every guest, and keep it live if you ask.

  • Put the hotel block, the dress code, and whether kids are invited on the page.
  • Add when the shuttle leaves and where it picks up.
  • Keep the wedding page live so it’s still up on the day.
How Buddy makes and shares sites
  1. Today 4:30 PM
  2. You: can you make a little website with the wedding weekend schedule for our guests? everyone keeps texting me the same questions
  3. Buddy: Congratulations! Send me the schedule and whatever people keep asking.
  4. You: it’s jess and marco. welcome drinks fri 6pm at the hotel bar, ceremony sat 4pm at the vineyard, brunch sun 10 back at the hotel. park at the hotel, the vineyard has its own lot. dress is garden party, comfy shoes
  5. Buddy: Perfect. Anyone with the link can open it, so is there anything you’d rather keep off, like last names or addresses?
  6. You: just keep our last names off
  7. 4:44 PM
  8. Buddy: Here it is: the weekend by day, where to park for each stop, and what to wear.
  9. Buddy: Links stay up for three days. Want me to keep this one live so it’s still up on the day?
  10. You: yes please! Buddy loved this.

From one text to a page for your guests

  1. Send me the weekend

Times, places, what to wear, where to park. Type it however it comes out and I’ll sort it.

  2. I make the page

A small site that opens in any browser, laid out by day. Tell me what to change and I’ll make another version.

  3. Share one link

Text it or email it to your guests yourself. Ask me to keep it live and it stays up while you’re a member.

More you can ask for

  • Make a little website with the wedding weekend schedule for our guests.
  • Translate the page into Spanish for Marco’s side of the family.
  • Make it feel like a garden party: soft green, simple, easy to read on a phone.
  • Add a few things to do near the hotel Saturday morning for out-of-town guests.
  • Make a one-page schedule I can print for the welcome bags.
  • Which of my pages are still live?

What you get back

  • A page your guests can open

One link that works on a phone. Anyone with the link can open it, so keep last names, phone numbers, and anything private off it.

    How shared pages work
  • Up for three days, or longer if you ask

Every link stays up for 72 hours. Ask me to keep one live and it stays up while you’re a member, up to ten at a time.

  • A new version when plans change

Brunch moved, or the shuttle runs later? Tell me what changed and I’ll make another version.

  • A printed copy for the welcome bags

Ask for a PDF of the schedule and print as many as you need.

Questions people ask

Who can see our wedding page?

Anyone with the link. Leave out anything you wouldn’t post, like last names, phone numbers, or a home address.

How long does the link last?

72 hours. Ask Buddy to keep it live and it stays up for as long as you’re a member, up to ten at a time. He can bring back an expired one too, though he may need the original file.

Can guests RSVP on it?

Not on the page itself. It gives guests the whole weekend, but it can’t collect their replies, so keep your RSVPs wherever you have them now.

What do I do with it after the wedding?

Ask Buddy to take it down when you’re done. You can also ask for the source file to keep.

Send the schedule once. Let the link answer the rest.
