Buddy for tee times

Tell me where you want to play, when, and how many are in your group. I’ll find an open time and bring you in when the course needs your sign-in or card.

A retired mail carrier in St. George, Utah, booking Saturday for his foursome.

Tell me the course, the day, the time, and how many. I’ll find what’s open and hand you my screen to sign in and pay.

  • Book us a twilight round Friday for three, walking.
  • Find a tee time for two after 3 on Sunday, anywhere within 20 minutes.
  • Check Thursday’s tee times each morning and tell me if something before 8 opens up.

From one text to a tee time

  1. Say when and how many

The course, the day, the time you want, and the size of your group. Mention carts or walking if it matters.

  2. I check what’s open

I work through the course’s booking page and tell you the closest times. If yours is taken, I say so and offer the nearest ones.

  3. You sign in and pay on their page

When the site needs your account or a card, I send a link to take over my screen. You enter it on the course’s page, then I finish and tell you what happened.

More you can ask for

  • Get me a 9 a.m. tee time Saturday.
  • Put Saturday’s tee time on my calendar with the course address.
  • Compare green fees at the three public courses near us.
  • We’re in Scottsdale next month. Find two courses with morning times open for four.
  • Friday night, text me the forecast for Saturday morning.
  • Remind me Friday at 6 to tell the guys our tee time.

What you get back

  • An open time, or the closest ones

If the time you wanted is gone, you hear which times are nearest and can pick one.

  • Your sign-in and card stay with you

A link lets you take over my screen and type your password or card on the course’s own page. I never ask for either in chat.

    Working on the web
  • A straight answer about what happened

Booked, waiting on you, or stopped by the site. Reaching checkout isn’t the same as a booking, and I’ll tell you which one you have.

  • A nudge before you play

Ask for a reminder or the morning forecast, and it comes to you at the time you choose.

Questions people ask

Does Buddy need my password for the course’s site?

No, and he won’t ask for it in chat. When the booking page needs you signed in, he sends a link to take over his screen, and you sign in on the course’s own page.

Who pays, and how?

You do, on the course’s page, through the same kind of takeover link. Buddy waits while you enter your card, then picks up where you left off.

What if the site won’t let him book?

Some sites refuse access or need a step Buddy can’t complete. He tells you what’s left and what he needs from you to finish.

What if the takeover link expires?

Reply and ask Buddy to reopen the step. The site may also ask you to sign in again later.

Can he keep an eye out for an earlier time?

Yes. Ask him to check on a schedule and text you when one opens. Asking him to check isn’t asking him to book, so say which one you want.

Tell Buddy the time. Bring your own clubs.
