Buddy for study guides
Send me your notes and tell me when the test is. I’ll make a study guide and quiz you on it every night until test day.
A sophomore in Bozeman, Montana, three nights out from a biology midterm.
The study guide in this conversation is the one Buddy made from these four pages of notes. He also made the photos of the notes, to stand in for the ones a person would send.
Send me your notes and the test date. I’ll quiz you on a schedule and stop when the test is over.
- Make a practice test from chapter 5 with the answers on the last page.
- Turn these slides into a one-page study guide I can print.
- Explain the Krebs cycle like I missed that lecture.

- You: here are my notes from the cell unit. midterm is thursday at 10 and i’m cooked
- Buddy: Got all four pages. One arrow on page 3 is smudged. Is that ATP leaving the mitochondria or going in?

Send me your notes and tell me when the test is. I’ll make a study guide and quiz you on it every night until test day.
From your notes to a nightly quiz
Send me what you’re studying
Photos of your notes, the slides, or a chapter as a file. Tell me the test date and what it covers if you know.
I make the study guide
A short guide in the format you want, like a PDF to print or a Word document to mark up. Tell me if it misses something your professor stressed.
I quiz you on a schedule
Pick the time and the last night. I text the questions, you answer, and I tell you what you got right and what to look at again.
More you can ask for
- Quiz me on these notes every night at 9 until Thursday.
- I keep missing the Golgi questions. Quiz me only on those tomorrow night.
- Make flashcards from this chapter that I can flip through on my phone.
- Here’s a voice memo of me talking through chapter 6. What did I get wrong?
- Here’s last year’s practice exam. Which topics come up the most?
- Send me tonight’s missed questions as a voice message I can play on the drive home.
What you get back
A study guide you can keep
A PDF, Word document, or slide deck made from your own material. Ask for changes after you read it.
Work with filesA quiz on your schedule
Questions by text at the time you picked, until the night you said to stop. Ask what’s scheduled, move it, or end it early.
Reminders and repeating workFlashcards in a browser
A small page of cards you can flip through on your phone. The link is public and stays up for 72 hours unless you ask me to keep it live.
How shared pages work

Four pages of notes on one page, with five questions to quiz yourself.
Made by Buddy from this request.
Questions people ask
What if he can’t read my handwriting?
Buddy may need a clearer photo or your help with that part. If the guide seems to skip something, ask which part he couldn’t read.
Do I need the app open for the 9 o’clock quiz?
No. Scheduled work runs online, so the quiz arrives by text whether or not the VXBE desktop app is open.
How do I stop the quiz early?
Tell Buddy in the conversation where you set it up. He can pause it, change the time, or remove the nights that are left. The VXBE desktop app also lists it under Settings, then Scheduled work.
Does he know what’s on the test?
No. Buddy works from the material you send. If your professor posted a review sheet or a practice exam, send that too.
