Buddy for your schedule

Tell me what time you want your morning text and what belongs in it. I’ll send the weather, what’s on your calendar, and anything you said you’d do, then remind you when it’s time.

A dental hygienist in Duluth, Minnesota, scraping frost off the windshield in the dark.

Tell me what time and what you want in it. I’ll send the weather and your calendar every morning, and remind you of anything you ask me to.

  • Remind me at 4 to drop off Dana’s dish.
  • What’s on my calendar Saturday?
  • Send my morning text at 7 on weekends instead.
How reminders and repeat work go
  1. Today 6:00 AM
  2. Buddy: Morning! 29° now, 51° by 3. Give the windshield five extra minutes.
  3. Buddy: On your calendar: patients 8 to 4, then your oil change at 4:30.
  4. Buddy: And you said you’d get Dana’s casserole dish back to her this week. It’s Thursday.
  5. You: ugh the dish. text me at 4 when I’m leaving work
  6. Buddy: I’ll text you at 4.
  7. You: what’s saturday look like
  8. Buddy: Open until Owen’s birthday party at 2.
  9. 4:00 PM
  10. Buddy: Heading out? Dana’s dish, then the oil change at 4:30 🚗
  11. You: already in the car Buddy liked this.

Set up your morning text

  1. Tell me the time and what to include

The weather, your calendar, anything you said you’d do. Say it once and I’ll send it every morning until you tell me to stop.

  2. Connect your calendar

To read what’s on your day, I need your calendar connected. Ask me for the setup link, and you finish the sign-in yourself.

  3. Ask for reminders as you go

“Text me at 4” works, and so does “sometime this afternoon.” Give me a loose window and I’ll pick the time.

More you can ask for

  • Text me every morning at 6 with the weather, what’s on my calendar, and anything I’m forgetting.
  • Put the dentist on my calendar for the 22nd at 9.
  • When am I free for an hour on Friday afternoon?
  • Remind me sometime in the next 3 hours to call the bank back.
  • Skip the weather on weekends. Just the calendar.
  • What did I say I’d do this week?

What you get back

  • A morning text

The weather where you are, what’s on your calendar today, and anything you told me you’d get to. It comes at the time you picked.

    Reminders and ongoing work
  • Your calendar, read for you

With a connected calendar, I can tell you what’s on any day and check when you’re free. Without one, I only know what you’ve told me.

    How connected apps work
  • Reminders when you ask

One time or every week. Ask me what’s scheduled, change the time, pause one, or remove it.

  • What you mentioned, brought back

Say you’ll return a dish or call someone back, and I can bring it up when it helps. When something has to happen, ask for a reminder.

        Questions people ask

        Does Buddy need my calendar?

For calendar details, yes. Buddy reads your day through a supported connected calendar. Without one, the morning text can still have the weather and things you’ve told him.

Does he put things on my calendar when I mention them?

No. Remembering a date isn’t the same as adding an event or setting a reminder. Ask for a reminder, or ask him to add the event to your connected calendar.

How do I change the time or stop it?

Tell Buddy in the conversation where you set it up. He can change the time, pause it, or remove future texts. In the VXBE desktop app, Settings, then Scheduled work, shows them too.

Does my computer need to be on?

No. Scheduled texts are handled online, so the VXBE desktop app doesn’t need to be open.

What happens if I text STOP?

In iMessage, STOP turns off only the texts Buddy starts on his own. To end the morning text, ask him to remove it.

Tomorrow can start with one text.
