Buddy for Notion
Connect Notion and tell me what you need out of it. I’ll read your pages and databases and text you the part that matters, on a schedule if you like.
Two designers sharing one studio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on a Friday that’s already full.
Connect Notion once, then tell me what to pull and when. I’ll read it and text you the short list.
- What’s overdue in our Projects board?
- Put these meeting notes on a new page in Notion.
- Every Monday at 8, tell me what’s due this week in Notion.
- You: every friday, pull what’s due next week from notion
- Buddy: Happy to. First I need Notion connected. Here’s the link.
- Connect NotionSetup link
- You: done. it’s all in the Projects board
- Buddy: Found it. I’ll send this every Friday at 10 until you tell me to stop. Here’s next week:
- Buddy: Monday: Harbor Bakery menu proofs. Wednesday: Tidewater Dental site copy and the rowing club logo, round two. Friday: the Kittery invoice.
- Buddy: The Tidewater site copy has no one assigned yet. Worth a look before Monday.
- You: good catch Buddy liked this.

From your Notion to your phone
Connect Notion
Ask me and I’ll send a setup link, or open Connected apps on your account. You finish the sign-in yourself and review the access Notion asks for.
Tell me what to pull
Name the page or database and what you want from it, like what’s due or what’s overdue. Add a day and time if you want it every week.
Get the short list
I read it and text you what matters. Ask about any item and I’ll look closer.
More you can ask for

- Read our style guide page in Notion and check this headline copy against it.
- Find our client onboarding checklist in Notion and send me the steps.
- Add the due dates from this client email to the Harbor Bakery card in Notion.
- Turn next week’s Notion tasks into a spreadsheet I can print.

Questions people ask
What can Buddy see in Notion?
The pages and databases your connection can reach. Not every Notion feature is supported, so ask Buddy if you’re unsure about one.
Will he change anything in Notion?
Not on his own. He adds or changes a page only when you ask.
What if the Friday update stops coming?
An expired sign-in or a changed permission can interrupt a connection. Buddy should tell you what he needs. Reconnect through the setup instructions, never by sending a password in chat.
How do I stop it or disconnect Notion?
To stop the Friday update, ask Buddy in the conversation where you set it up, or open Settings, then Scheduled work, in the VXBE desktop app. Disconnecting Notion is a separate step in the connected-app settings.
