Buddy for meeting prep
Tell me who you’re meeting and when. I’ll read what you’ve sent each other and give you the short version, open items first.
An account manager in Hartford, Connecticut, eating lunch at her desk, twenty-five minutes before a client call.
Send me who you’re meeting and when. I’ll read what you’ve sent each other and tell you what was asked, what was promised, and what’s still open.
- I’m meeting the Hendersons at 4. What did we last agree on?
- Look up Northfield Supply before my call and tell me what’s new with them.
- Here are my notes from last time. Turn them into three questions to ask.
- You: before my 2:00 with Priya, read our last few emails and give me the short version
- Buddy: Reading them now.
- 1:38 PM
- Buddy: Four emails since March. She wants to renew at last year’s price, and she’s asked twice about moving onboarding to June.
- Buddy: One open item: you told her the new training schedule would come by the 3rd. I don’t see that it went out.
- You: oh no. what do i say
- Buddy: Tell her it’s coming and give her a date. I can draft the email now so it’s ready after the call.
- You: yes draft it, don’t send
- Buddy: It’s in your Gmail drafts. It says the schedule comes by Friday. Change the day if that’s wrong.
- You: ok i’m ready Buddy liked this.

From a long thread to a short brief
Tell me who and when
A name, a company, or a subject line is enough. If the meeting is on a connected calendar, I can check the time there.
I read and sum it up
With your email connected, I read your recent messages with them and pull out what was asked, what was promised, and what’s still open.
Walk in ready
Ask for questions to raise, a one-page brief, or a follow-up draft. A draft stays a draft until you send it.
More you can ask for
- Before my 2:00 with Priya, read our last few emails and give me the short version.
- Send me the short version as a voice message so I can listen on the drive over.
- This is the agenda they sent. Which items should I bring numbers for?
- Make a one-page brief for Thursday’s board meeting from these three documents.
- After my call, draft a follow-up to Priya with what we agreed. Don’t send it.
- Every weekday at 7, tell me who I’m meeting today and what we last talked about.
What you get back
The short version
What they asked for, what you promised, and what’s still open, in a few lines you can read on the way in.
A brief you can keep
Ask for a Word document or PDF if you want to print it or bring it in.
Work with filesCurrent information, with sources
For a company or a person in the news, I search the public web and tell you where it came from.
How research worksA follow-up, drafted
After the meeting, I can draft the email in your connected account, ready for you to review and send.

Questions people ask
Does Buddy need my email and calendar?
To read your emails with someone, Buddy needs your email connected. To check a meeting time, he needs a supported connected calendar. Without them, forward the messages to his Buddy address from the email on your account, and he’ll work from those.
Will he send the follow-up himself?
Only if you ask, with your email connected and the recipient clear. Otherwise it waits in your drafts. Say whether you want a draft or a sent email.
What if he misses something?
His summary is only as complete as what he can reach. Ask about a specific message, date, or attachment and he’ll look again.
Can he prep me every morning?
Yes. Ask for it at the time you want, and he’ll keep sending it until you tell him to stop. The accounts the work needs still have to be connected.
