Pro and Max include the same Buddy capabilities. Max gives you more allowance and file storage. Choose based on how much you expect to use him and how much room you need.
The pricing page compares the current allowances, storage, and prices side by side.
An account and access to Buddy
A free account keeps access to account, billing, and privacy functions. It doesn't include Buddy. Pro and Max provide Buddy and the currently shipped capabilities. Particular work can still depend on an account connection, your capability settings, or service availability.
When Max makes sense
Max makes sense if you use Buddy for bigger or more frequent work: more conversations, research, files, and longer projects, all drawing from one shared monthly allowance. You can use either plan for those kinds of work. Max provides a larger allowance to use them more.
It also includes more file storage. Storage is the room for files and saved work you keep with Buddy; credits cover the work he does.
One shared allowance
Conversations and supported work draw from one shared monthly allowance. A longer or more involved request can use more than a short question. Examples of what an allowance might cover aren't separate quotas or a required mix of activities.
Send /usage to Buddy to see your monthly credits and when the period ends. Recent work may still be settling. Your account page also shows your current credit usage and reset date when a balance is available. Unused monthly credits expire at the end of their period, including on annual memberships. Use the dates and amounts shown for your account.
Pro and Max model classes
The /pro and /max commands change Buddy's model class, a separate choice from your subscription. They don't upgrade your plan or increase your monthly allowance or storage. Read about model classes if you want to use those controls.
Manage billing
You can ask Buddy to explain your options or help you find the billing page. Subscription changes still happen through the account's billing controls.
Open your account page to see your membership and the billing-management option available for it. Review the billing screen before confirming a subscription change or cancellation.
Credit or compute limits can interrupt work. A request being underway doesn't guarantee it can continue beyond those limits; check the status Buddy reports rather than assuming it finished.
Cancellation and a refund are different things. The Terms of Service explain the applicable terms. If a payment outcome is unclear, contact VXBE support before paying again.
