You can change Buddy's model class between Pro and Max without changing your subscription or monthly credit allowance. The class chooses the AI Buddy uses for future replies and how that work uses credits. Both classes can use the capabilities available to your account.
If you're choosing how much Buddy you want to use, compare the subscription plans instead. The Max plan includes a larger monthly allowance and more file storage. Sending /max changes the class; it doesn't add that allowance or storage.
Choose a class
Every account starts with the Pro class, including an account on the Max subscription plan. To choose Max, send /max to Buddy. Send /pro to choose Pro again. You can do this in the VXBE desktop app, iMessage, or email. In email, put the command at the start of the message body.
Your choice belongs to your Buddy account, so it applies across your chats and stays in place until you change it. Work already underway keeps the class it started with. Your next request, even in the same chat, uses your new choice. If you put a request after the command, such as /max Compare these two options, Buddy confirms the change and answers that request using the class you chose.
Credits and your plan
Max uses credits at higher rates than Pro. Pro can help your allowance go further. You can try either class with the kinds of work you usually ask Buddy for and switch back whenever you like. Your account page shows your current credit usage and reset date.
